《迪迦·奥特曼》播映16年后的首部奥特曼系列片，平成奥特曼系列的第一弹。迪迦奥特曼是为了纪念"奥特曼"诞生30周年而拍的新作，它是将奥特曼的存在意义成人化的作品。除了吸引当年收看过旧奥特曼系列的FANS们外，《迪迦奥特曼》的播映，无疑又为奥特系列增添了许多新的崇拜者，对于迪迦奥特曼，圆谷公司进行了大胆的尝试。以前旧系列中，奥特曼战士都是来自外星球的战士，但是迪迦被设定为苏醒的超古代破坏神，这个设定为以后奥特系列的发展也奠定了基础。在造型方面，迪迦奥特曼拥有许多不同的形态，并可以相互转化，逐步提高自己的能力，这在之前的系列中也是从来没有出现过的。在演员的选用方面，圆谷也作出了大胆的尝试，启用V6的长野博出演迪迦奥特曼的人间体大古队员，另外《宇宙英雄·奥特曼》中扮演初代奥特曼的人间体早田队员的扮演者黑部进的女儿吉本多香美饰演丽娜，此外，和"迪迦"一起担负保卫地球任务的。"GUTS"队员们，人人个性鲜明，个个生动形象，这也是本作品的魅力之一。"迪迦"在印度尼西亚语中，代表了神圣的数字"-3-"。三千万年以前，在地球仍然处於和平的时候，三位巨人一下子毁灭了人类超古代文明。打败他们的巨人——迪迦把自己战斗的躯体隐藏在“迪迦之地”后，化作光离开了地球。剧情大纲约三千万年以前，在地球处于超古代的时候，奇杰拉花朵盛开，邪神泰坦尼偌降临，巨人们发生内战，原是最强的黑暗战士迪迦在受幽怜的感动后变为光明，使其黑暗力量长眠。但人类超古代文明并没有因此而得救，人们全部都迷上了奇杰拉花的花粉，因为奥特曼不会干涉人类的选择，所以巨人把自己战斗的躯体隐藏在金字塔后，化作光离开了地球。。影片讲述了上世纪六十年代末，年轻珠宝商尤金尼奥在巴塞罗那的一辆公共汽车上遇到美丽的康奇塔后，他们立刻坠入爱河。尤金尼奥学会了弹吉他，为康奇塔的音乐生涯伴奏，为此他不得不与舞台恐惧作斗争。而当康奇塔不得不离开两周时，她说服尤金尼奥自己登台表演。出人意料的是，当她回来时，他已经在这个城市的地下喜剧场的演出中引起了轰动。。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
