一晚夜深时分，梁志迪把他睡梦中的哥哥杀死，带着无比怨愤与仇恨。当警察把他逮捕时，他嘴里还喃喃自语：他是抵死的…… 梁志初与梁志迪是一对同被收养的兄弟。然而阿初天性凶残顽劣，自幼就欺凌弟弟。且对养父母不敬，相反阿迪勤力工作，孝顺双亲，但当阿初出现在他们家里时，自然会带来暴戾与争吵。阿初曾经毒打妻子，意图把三岁的女儿抛落街头，终于因贩毒被判入狱，出狱后，又为梁家带来灾难，终于激发起阿迪弑兄的决心……。小女孩桃乐丝•盖尔带着心爱的小狗图图住在叔叔家位于堪萨斯州的农场里。一天，威力巨大的龙卷风席卷而来，所过之处片瓦不留。胆小的图图躲在床下不敢动弹，为救回小伙伴，桃乐丝从防空洞中出来。正在此时，龙卷风将房子连同其中的桃乐丝、图图一同卷上天空。不知经过多长时间，小木屋落到一块陌生的土地。当地的居民欢欣鼓舞，因为屋子落下时把一个邪恶的女巫压死了。在北方女巫的指点下，桃乐丝决定前往魔法师奥兹所居住的翡翠城，希望找到回家的方法。一路上，她先后遇见了想要有颗聪明头脑的稻草人、希望有一颗心脏的铁皮人以及渴望变得勇敢胆大的狮子。为了达成愿望，他们跟随桃乐丝一同前往翡翠城…… 本片根据美国同名童话改编。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
