民国年间，奉天城郊卖麻花的青年黄梁和妻子家玲在家突然遭遇奉天“教父”四爷上门催还高利贷。本为了让妻子家玲过上好日子的黄梁在四爷的威逼下，不顾妻子家玲反对，决定去奉天城找机会赶紧赚大钱还债，却被卷入到一场风波中。风波平息，黄粱意识到简单幸福的不易，最后与家玲幸福生活。。The story opens in Balochistan, in a small, scarcely ‘wired’ village bordering Iran and Afghanistan.
