1940年6月的一个周末，德军即将侵入，英军被迫撤退，驻扎在附近邓科克海滩的法国士兵也想撤离，以便更有效地打击德军。但因为英军需要使用船只，所以法军被迫就地待命。随后的冲突中不少无辜百姓遭殃，一名妇女拒绝离开自己的家园，跟法军互相支持。与此同时，海滩上的战士似乎成了德军飞机的活靶子。。Superstition, magic, and bad decisions drive us down a road into a small town in rural Louisiana with Devin, a 17-year-old boy, being dragged to his mother's hometown after his parent's' ugly divorce.
